Cole's Portuguese Sardines

Cole's Portuguese sardines (Pilchardus Walbaum), harvested off the coast of Portugal, are known to be the sweetest and most succulent in the world. They are caught using traditional fishing methods.
 

Once harvested, these top quality sardines are in the can within hours of being fished from the sea. The process involves manual cleaning and very careful handling, followed by the traditional cooking in a grill oven before being canned. Only extra virgin or pure olive oil is used in the different sauces.

These Portuguese traditional fishery and cannery methods are known over the world to result in a tin of sardines that is uncommonly flavorful and an excellent source of protein, vitamins, calcium and polyunsaturated fatty acid omega-3.

Tasting suggestions: Great as a starter, hors d’oeuvres, with pasta, pizza or a gourmet sandwich
