About Us.JPG

Cole’s founder Chris Zabriskie has always had a passion for the freshest, best tasting fish seasoned to perfection. When his search left him unable to find it he decided to create it himself.

He began to work with a family owned trout farm to offer a first of its kind product: a fingerling trout in a tin which Chris named “troutines”. The first run of troutines in various flavors were processed in Maine and sent to retailers for their feedback. The troutines were a hit! Whole Foods Market ordered 25 cases of each.

As the increasing  demand for troutines grew, Cole’s identified a processing partner in Portugal to produce the trout as a smoked fillet portion. This was the genesis of the Cole’s smoked trout-the company’s first item to be sold in the market...and the rest, as they say is “fishtory”....

Today, Cole’s continues to grow and expand both its reach and product offerings. In 2019 Cole’s formed an alliance with Geomar, a Chilean seafood company whose principles and values align with us. From the pristine waters of Patagonia, Geomar sources fish and shellfish from local fishermen and farmers who adhere to sustainable practices. Geomar processes and packs under the Cole’s brand for sale across the U.S.

By partnering with Geomar, Cole’s is positioned to expand its distribution in North America and beyond with additional products which conform to the brand’s core principles of freshness, flavor and environmental stewardship.
